About
Sara raced professionally for 12 years in mountain biking.
She was a pioneer for women’s’ racing, being
the first American woman to race full-time in Europe
in 1990. She was a National Team Member since it’s
inception in 1990 through her final year of racing in
1996. Sara is also a Member of the Mountain Bike Hall
of Fame in Crested Butte, Colorado. She was also a member
of Team Vail in the 1998 Eco-Challenge Adventure Race
where they took First Place. They were the first American
Team to win a major “expedition” race.
